Refletion on Week 2

This week, we have to do some study based on a topic that we have chosen. The topic that I have chosen is Original and Licensing software.
(Think)
At first, I do not really understand what does it means by original software and licensing software. I thought that both of them are the same thing. When I use Google Search Engine to search for it, I can hardly get any information on that topic. Therefore, I post my inquiry on my official Facebook account and I get a few feedbacks from my course mates. They told me that original and licensing software are two different things and I should not combine them together when I search for the information. (Thanks to my dear course-mates) ^^
(Pair)
Besides that, I also discuss the topic with my partner, Chong Xin Txin. Both of us use internet to look for some information on the Original and Licensing Software and we try to compare the similarities and differences between original and licensing software.  After that, we compose all of our ideas into an essay. (Thank you, Xin Txin).
(Share)
Before I share our essay on Facebook group, I share a link about licensing software first. The purpose of sharing the link is to enable my course-mates to get an idea about what is licensing software. After that, we post our essay on Xin Txin’s Facebook Group so that every group members can view and comment on it.
(Online Discussion)
After we post our essay on Facebook group, every group member needs to comment and share their opinion on it. The purpose of doing online discussion is that we can view a topic from different perspectives. Besides that, everyone will have their own opinions and ideas which we can share among each other. (Thanks to our lecturer from UKM, Dr. Siti Fatimah, and my course-mates for giving me precious comments and idea).
Not only that, I also need to share my opinion on others’ topics. Sometimes, I find it is hard to share my opinion especially when the topic is new to me. To have my own idea and opinion, I need to understand thoroughly about the topic. By the way, I really learn a lot from online discussion as I can get a lot of information and knowledge from my 20 brilliant course-mates.
What have I learn from the topic Original and Licensing Software?
Original Software can be defined as a privately held company providing automatic software testing products and services. (Wikipedia)There are several benefits that we can gain from original software. First of all, original software offers a solution focused completely on the goal of effective quality management. For example, some computers may rebel towards pirated software and it results in the users’ files to be corrupted and so on.
Licensing software can be defined as certain rights towards manipulating the software are reserved by the software publisher for proprietary software.  Licensed software enables the owner to hold the copyright. With this copyright, a software owner has the authority to legally sell, distribute, copy or change the content of the software. Hence, users need to comply with the terms and conditions in the licensing agreement, or EULA (End User Licensing Agreement) which they have agreed upon using the software.
In short, as a computer user, we should always bear in mind that it is against the law to illegally obtain and use pirated software. We should respect others' will of keeping the authority of distributing or altering the contents of the software to themselves. They have created the software by spending a lot of time, energy and money and it is really immoral if we just support the pirated software and ignore their hard work.
